Freeride Lombardia

Freeride Lombardia describes 50 off piste ski itineraries in the Italian region of Lombardia. Freeride Lombardia is an off piste guide book to Livigno, Santa Catarina, Bormia, Passo Tonale and Madesimo. 

Published by Versante Sud and written by Giuliano Bordoni and Paolo Marazzi, Freeride Lombardia is a great little guide book that is small and light enough to carry on the mountain but still detailed and inspiring to read. There are numerous full colour photos, many with routes drawn on and extensive info on slope angle, orientation, avalanche hazard and overall difficulty. There's also advice for snowboarders for each route along with useful local info like bus pickup points, distance to walk back to resort etc.

Lombardia is a real hidden gem for freeriders. Located on the south side of the central main alpine ridge, the mountains here are big, beautiful and perfect for freeriding. The area also receives huge snowfalls when the weather comes in from the south.
