Shipping & Returns

We use Planet by Shopify to offset the carbon released in every delivery of every order we take at Backcountry Books. 

SHIPPING

Shipping costs are based on package weight. This is automatically calculated at checkout. Standard charges are shown below.

Please note that some larger, heavier items may attract a small increase in shipping charges, particularly heavier books and wall maps. 

UK

Tracked Shipping = £2.99. 

Free shipping on orders over £50.00.

 

EUROPE

Tracked - £7.99 +

We have two shipping options for the EU:

UPS - All Tax and Duty is paid by Backcountry Books. There are no extra charges to the customer before delivery. 

Royal Mail - This service is less expensive than UPS but does not include import Tax and Duty. Therefore a charge may be payable by the customer before delivery. The amount depends on the country and is usually only a small charge. We recommend this service for lower value products such as maps. 

Please note - All wall prints are sent shipped without tax and duty paid. 

 

USA / CANADA / REST OF WORLD

Tracked = £12.99 +

 

We aim to dispatch all orders within 2 working days, although most will be shipped within 24 hours of receiving the order. 

All items are dispatched from the UK, usually via Royal Mail. Sometimes we may use other couriers, especially for wall art items.

Wall prints may also be dispatched directly from the artist or printer. This may result in orders for multiple items that include such items being dispatched separately. 

Please be aware that VAT and customs may be due on delivery depending on the destination country’s rules. 

Approximate delivery times are as follows:

UK | 2 - 3 working days

Europe | 3 - 10 working days

USA / Canada / Rest of World | 5 - 14 working days

At busy times, particularly around Christmas, or during periods of bad weather, delivery may take longer. Although the vast majority of orders are delivered in the stated time period. 

Express delivery via UPS may be available for urgent European and Worldwide orders. Please contact us for details and pricing.

We'll send you an email after dispatching your order with a tracking number if applicable. We'll also let you know which company we've used to ship your order.

RETURNS 

Faulty or unwanted items should be returned within 30 days of purchase.
