Ski Touring Around Mont Blanc
Ski Touring Around Mont Blanc
A brilliant guide book to ski touring in and around the Mont Blanc Massif. Includes routes in Chamonix, Courmayeur, the Aravis, and Swiss Val Ferret.
The Mont Blanc Range is has unsurpassed quality and variety of terrain for ski touring and splitboarding. Trouble is, conditions often vary somewhat in the different zones depending on wind direction, aspect, recent snowfall etc.
Ski Touring Around Mont Blanc by Francois Matet is the perfect guide for anyone heading to the region who wants to maximise their chances of scoring good conditions. It's a great little book that describes 75 routes around the massif, all the way from the edge of the Aravis Range in the north west to the Aosta Valley and Grand Paradiso National Park in the south.
There's an excellent variety of tours described, from short tours through simple terrain ideal for beginners or bad weather days, to big adventures in glacial terrain. Images are great and the book is light enough to carry yet nice and detailed too. French and English text. Highly recommended.
